KCL1 DieselTech - 16™ Fuel Saver System

Fitting Instructions

General Principles.  Fuel passes from the vehicle's fuel tank, via its fuel pump, into the fuel filter. From the fuel filter the fuel passes into the the DieselTech unit. (Should the vehicle be fitted with two fuel filters then it will be the filter nearest to the engine's injector pump that provides the fuel to the inlet port of the DieselTech). The fuel is heated by the DieselTech unit and, via the unit's outlet, is passed into the engine's injector pump for combustion.

To ensure that the system works at maximum efficiency it is necessary to ensure that the following criteria are satisfied during its installation and on-going operation.

1. The unit should be mounted as close as is practically possible to the engine's injector pump in a stable, vibration free, horizontal position.

2. It must be supplied with a constant source of coolant that is at the same temperature as the engine's normal operating temperature, ie up to 80 degrees celsius.

3. Fuel should be introduced into the unit from the engine's fuel filter and then from the unit into the engine's injector pump.

4. In cases where the unit cannot be sited within close proximity to the injector pump, the line carrying the heated fuel to the engine's injector pump should be insulated to ensure minimum heat loss.
